Xerox Aircraft Technician

Position Overview:
With supervision perform a variety of aircraft modifications
and maintenance functions such as removal and installation
of airframe, landing gear, engine components, electrical components,
and control systems to assure conformance to procedures, performance
and test specification on Challenger aircraft. Must have the
ability to perform sheet metal repairs and/or modifications.
Additional Responsibilities include:
• Perform
assigned maintenance tasks, servicing of aircraft mechanical
systems and documentation within quoted time.
• Perform post and pre flight inspections. Troubleshoot
basic aircraft malfunctions such as fuel leaks, hydraulic leaks
and bulbs.
• Comply with modifications, blueprints, engineering orders,
service changes, and bulletins.
• Operate ground support equipment, such as power supply,
hydraulic rig, nitrogen filler cart and oxygen service cart.
Operate special support equipment used in removal and installation
of components.
• Experience with Computerized Maintenance programs (CAMP)
• Make recommendations for updating CAMP cards. Perform
work in compliance with Xerox Aviation Services Inspection Procedures
Manuel, Xerox Aviation Operating Procedures and FAR
• Perform minor sheet metal tasks
• Perform other duties as assigned
Position Requirements:
This position requires a minimum of 8 years of technician experience
with Challenger 601 and/or 604-type. This person must be located
within a reasonable commuting distance of Westchester Airport
and be available for duty subject to the schedule produced
by management, which may include short notice availability
and overtime.
Additional Responsibilities include:
• 2/4
year degree required
• 8 years of aircraft maintenance and technical training
• Ability to interpret maintenance manuals IPC, ASC, CB,
AD, CMP cards and blueprints
• Must be able to climb ladders, stairs, work in small-restricted
areas, and lift 40 pounds
• Ability to operate hydraulic mule pumps, hand tools,
power supply carts, test equipment, etc.
• Airplane and Powerplant license required
• High professional ethics, good judgment
• Conduct yourself in a professional manner, reflected
by dress, attitude and courtesy indicative of the Xerox corporate
image.
• Must be computer literate and able to use a computer
effectively to communicate and complete aviation and Xerox related
tasks. Proficient with MS Office products is desired

Major Purpose:
The major purpose of the Lead Technician is to assist the Director
of Maintenance in carrying out functions of the maintenance
department.
Major Responsibilities:
The Lead Technician is responsible to:
1.Oversee and perform maintenance, preventative maintenance and
alterations in a professional manner and in accordance with this
manual, the manufacturer’s maintenance manual and all applicable
FAR’s.
2.Monitor aircraft discrepancy record for RII items and see to
the accomplishment of repairs or adjustments by assignment of
qualified personnel.
3.Ensure that all required entries are made on the appropriate
maintenance forms.
4.Coordinate the ordering of parts and materials.
5.Perform other duties as assigned.
Authority:
The Lead Technician has the authority to:
1.Authorize individuals, Repair Stations and other 135 operators
to perform RII Inspections and issue Airworthiness Releases.
2.Order the necessary Components, Parts, and sup¬plies.
3.Perform the Inspections or Maintenance authorized in his Training
Records.
Qualifications:
The Lead Technician must:
1.Hold a current FAA Airframe, Powerplant, or Air¬frame and
Powerplant Certificate.
2.Be familiar with the policies and procedures outlined in the
US Helicopter Operations and Maintenance Manuals.
3.He must be highly knowledgeable of the applicable US Helicopter
CAMP and the Manufacturer’s Maintenance Manual.
4.Be familiar with applicable Federal Aviation Regulations.

Major Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot, repair and install complex avionics and electrical
systems
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, aircraft wiring
diagrams, service bulletins, electrical modification accomplishment
instructions, aircraft maintenance manuals, aircraft illustrated
parts manuals, component maintenance manuals and other related
documentation
• Perform operational maintenance checks on avionics systems
including radar, pulse navigation, communications, autopilot,
pitot-static, ice and rain protection, AC & DC power distribution
and aircraft interior and exterior lighting
• Operate avionics test equipment including air data test
set, navigation communication test set, ATC/TCAS ramp test equipment,
oscilloscopes and other electronics test equipment
• Assist project supervisor with removal and re-installation
of aircraft panels, aircraft interior and components
• Assist project supervisor with pre-delivery aircraft delivery
and post-delivery hangar clean-up
• Perform work and document in accordance with company process
• Fabricate and maintain avionics test equipment and tooling
• General hangar cleanup and shop maintenance
• Avionics library maintenance
• Project planning, avionics installation supply replenishing
Qualifications/Education:
• Must hold a FAA A&P
• English Language Proficiency and be able to clearly communicate
and interact with inter-company personnel
• Diploma in accredited electronics technology program specializing
in Avionics Technology or equivalent education, training and
experience
• Additional Avionics related education is an asset
• Minimum 3 years Avionics experience on Helicopters with
S76 highly desired.
• Be flexible to work overtime, weekends and some shift-work
based on workload schedules.
